Of course. So Ross Hall Clinic, Braehead is where our private GP clinic is located and it is run by Dr John Tobias, a GP with over 30 years of experience. It’s part of Ross Hall Hospital, a private hospital run by Circle Health Group. Ross Hall Clinic Braehead was opened in 2022 and provides a range of services including private GP services.

Lale:
Exactly, so Dr Tobias can provide referrals to other specialists, or services, at Ross Hall Hospital if needed.

What GP services do you offer?
Lale:
At Ross Hall, we offer a full range of GP services including:
Treatment of acute and chronic conditions
Rrivate prescriptions
Contraception and sexual health
Ear syringing
Allergy testing
Steroid injections
Diagnostic tests such as blood tests, ECG, MRI, CT scans and mammograms
We also offer a range of Medicals including Sports Medicals, various Work-Related Medicals, and HGV Driver Medicals.

How many GPs do you have at Ross Hall, Braehead?

We currently have two private GPs.

And how long is a standard appointment?
Lale:
A standard GP appointment is 30 minutes. A Medical can range from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the requirements.

And what is the cost of a standard appointment?
Lale:
A 30-minute private GP consultation at Ross Hall Clinic Braehead costs £170. This excludes the cost of any tests such as blood tests or scans. If you need to have any further tests, your GP will discuss this with you so that you can make an informed decision on whether you want to proceed. The cost of a Medical would be determined based on your requirements.

As you are part of Circle Health Group, is the cost of the appointment covered by insurance?
Lale:
That depends on your insurance. Many health insurance policies don’t cover GP appointments or may offer their own private GP services either in-person or online. In some cases, your insurance may not cover the cost of the GP appointment but may cover further tests, scans, or specialist consultations.
It’s best to check your policy to see what’s covered before your appointment. We offer flexible payment plans for self-paying patients to spread the cost of your diagnostics and treatment.
Same day appointments at Ross Hall?

Do you offer emergency or same-day appointments?
Lale:
We don’t offer an emergency service and always tell patients to call 111 or 999 in an emergency. We can offer same-day appointments depending on availability.

What about telephone or video consultations?
Lale:
All of our consultations are face-to-face. This allows Dr Tobias to fully assess your condition, provide an accurate diagnosis and recommend the
best treatment options.

The Ross Hall Private GP service is available from Monday to Friday. We have appointments in the morning, afternoon and early evening.
